• The price of the original Mimaki JV3 ink cartridge is expensive, how to decrease and save the cost of printing is our concern. The ink level of JV3 intelligent cartridge is accurately recorded and controlled by the chip IC, when used up, the ink level is ?1?. It cannot be reused even after the empty ink cartridge is refilled, and this results in high expense. The JV3 Ink Level Resetter can reset & refill the chip IC on the JV3 intelligent ink cartridges, and do not change the property of the cartridge. Then the almost empty cartridge can be reused after the ink is refilled.With its versatility,JV3 Ink Level Resetter can automatically Identify the type of ink cartridge, and then reset the chip on the cartridge into a full mode. The JV3 Ink Level Resetter can reset both JV3 160S and JV3 250SP Baby Grand printers of Versions before 2.4. Put the pins on the JV3 Chip Resetter to touch the chips on JV3 Cartridge , the LED on the JV3 Chip Resetter should face the screw which used to fix the chip on the cartridge(see figure 4). 3. Keep the two units in the firm contact. If the red light is blanking, it shows the two units contact well. 4. if the red light turns to green, it show the reset operation is successful. 5. Cartridge is now ready for refilling with ink. JV3 Empty Ink Cartridge Resetting the JV3 Empty Ink Cartridge ( Figure 3) (Figure 4) Troubleshooting: a) After the red LED flash, it stays on and does not turn green 1. The pins on the JV3 Ink Level Resetter are not in good contact with the chip on the cartridge. The contact may be dirty or oily. 2. Maybe the JV3 Ink Level Resetter is placed in the wrong direction. 3. If the ink cartridge is not an original Mimaki brand ink cartridge, the chip may be not compatible with the JV3 Ink Level Resetter. 4. If the ink cartridge is an original Mimaki brand ink cartridge, the chip may be burned out or Mimaki may have changed the chip design. But the JV3 Ink Level Resetter still can work with this kind of ink cartridge to reset and fulfill the level, only the green light would not shine. b) The printing effect is not good. 1. The quality of the ink you are using may be inferior. We recommend using inks that are specifically matched to Mimaki original colors and other characteristics. (Especially if you are printing digital photographs.) 2. Air bubbles entrapped in ink. To avoid this, inject the ink very slowly. Also, allow the cartridge to reset for 24 hours with the ink exit nozzles facing down before using. Remark: We recommend to reset the ink cartridges with our resetter when the ink level goes down to ?2?,not to?1?.
